Vella June Anderson

Vella June Anderson, 75, of Evans City passed away Tuesday at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township.

Born June 16, 1940, in Elizabeth, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Fred and Louie (Alt) Hinkle.

A Mormon, Vella was a volunteer of the Helping Hands in Callery and a member of the Senior Citizens Center in Evans City. She enjoyed playing the lottery and bingo and was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan. She loved shopping for gifts for her grandchildren and was devoted to her family and friends.

She is survived by five sons, Dennis R. Anderson of Evans City, Ernest E. (Melissa) Anderson of Georgia, Randolph W. Anderson of Connoquenessing, William P. (Kelly) Anderson of West Sunbury and Shawn Covert of Wampum; her brother, John Hinkle of Carnegie; her sister, Norma Forbes of Indiana; six grandchildren, Brandy, Nicole, David, Ashley, Bonnie and William Jr.; and five great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Taegen, Mason, Andrew and Brock.

In addition to her parents, Vella was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard N. Anderson, who passed away May 21, 2003; three brothers; and three sisters.

ANDERSON — Friends of Vella June Anderson, who died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Boylan Funeral Home, 116 E. Main St., Evans City.A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Bishop Adam Critchlow officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Evans City Cemetery.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with Vella's family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
