Huckabee to speak at St. Barnabas event
GIBSONIA — Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee will be the keynote speaker at the St. Barnabas Charities 114th annual Founder’s Day on May 1.
Huckabee, who ran for the Republican nomination for president in 2008, will be honored then with the Hance Award. The award is named after the organization’s founder, Gouverneur P. Hance, a lay Episcopalian brother who started the organization in 1900 as a refuge for incurable ill men and boys who could not afford their own care.
The Founder’s Day event will be at 6 p.m. at the Marriott Pittsburgh North in Cranberry Township. There will be a reception, followed by dinner and the speaker and awards program at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets cost $300 and can be ordered by calling 724-625-3770 or by visiting the organization’s website, www.stbarnabashealthsystem.com.
A private reception with Huckabee will be held before the event with tickets costing $800 per person.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the St. Barnabas Free Care Fund.
