Judy L. (Kradel) Christy

Judy L. (Kradel) Christy, 48, of Butler passed away Sunday.

She was born on Nov. 26, 1964, in Natrona Heights, to Marlene (Bures) Kradel McCloskey and the late Donald A. Kradel.

Judy graduated from Butler High School in 1982 and went on to Butler County Community College, where she received an associate degree in liberal arts. She then continued her education at Point Park University, where she received a bachelor of science degree in business management.

She worked at Farmers National Bank in Emlenton, Goodwill Industries in Pittsburgh, and the Bank of America in Upper St. Claire.

Judy was an active in Alcoholics Anonymous, where she helped many people. She was a caring, loving person with a heart of gold and would do anything for you. She loved the Steelers, the Pirates and her little Yorkie, Snickers. Judy was a member of the St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Judy is survived by her companion, Ron Novosel of Butler; her son, Erik Winters of Butler; her two daughters, Michelle Ball of Chicora and Brittany Charmley and her husband, Willford, of Butler; her four grandchildren, Mikey Ball of Wasilla, Alaska, Austin Ball and Addison Ball, both of Chicora, and Willford “Joey” Charmley of Butler; and her mother, Marlene (Bures) Kradel McCloskey, and her stepfather, William, of Butler.

Also surviving are her three sisters, Kimberly Kradel of Berkeley, Calif., Amy Hawk and her husband, Terry, of Cabot, and her twin sister, Jody Semmelroth of Butler; her two stepsisters, Cindy McCloskey of Apopka, Fla., and Nicole McQueen and her husband, Jamie, of Clayton, N.C.; her two nieces, Olivia and Emily Semmelroth, both of Butler, and her nephew, Tyler Tebay of Cabot.

Judy was preceded in death by her father, Donald A. Kradel; her husband, David E. Christy, who she married Dec. 31, 2008, and who passed away Oct. 13, 2009; her son, Michael J. Ball; her maternal grand parents, Hazel and James Bures; her paternal grandparents, Florence and Harry Kradel; her two stepbrothers, Bill and Kevin McCloskey, and her two stepsisters, Sharon McCloskey and Vicki Adams.

CHRISTY — The friends of Judy L. (Kradel) Christy, who died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Alden Towberman of the St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating.
