Donald E. Rihel

Donald E. Rihel, 86, of Harrisville passed away Saturday at the Chicora Medical Center.

Born at home in Marion Township on Aug. 10, 1928, he was a son of the late Ernest and Florence Hartley Rihel.

Don was always a hard worker and started at an early age at the Montgomery Block Co., then at Pullman Standard, at Spang and then worked over 20 years as an equipment operator at Allegheny Mineral.

Don was also the caretaker at the Prairie Cemetery in Harrisville for over 14 years.

On July 28, 1967, he married the former Helen L. Fix, and she preceded him in death on June 12, 1974.

Surviving are one daughter, Stacy Jones and her husband, Michael, of Chicora; two grandchildren, Emily Jones and Hunter Jones; one sister-in-law, Dessie Sopher of N.C.; and two nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, James Rihel.

RIHEL — The family and friends of Donald E. Rihel, who died Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, will be welcomed from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Jamison Funeral Home, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville. Additional visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Boyd Smith, pastor of West Unity Community Church, officiating.
