Sewer board raises rates
Customers of the Butler Area Sewer Authority are paying more to get rid of their sewage.
The authority board this morning raised the monthly sewage fee to $27 up from $25.
That increase is part of the authority's 2010-2011 budget, which is $8.108 million.
The increased is retroactive to July 1.
The authority doesn't count customers per se, but the number of equivalent dwelling units, EDUs. BASA has 23,033 EDUs from which it receives revenue.
