INDIANA, Pa. — Former Union High School basketball stars Bethany Koch and Tiffany Corle faced off Wednesday when the Indiana (Pa.) University women's team hosted Clarion.

Corle, a freshman guard for IUP, saw 13 minutes of action and tallied seven points, two rebounds and a steal as the Crimson Hawks (16-1) defeated Clarion 92-65.

Koch, a sophomore guard for Clarion (10-5), contributed two rebounds and an assist.

PITTSBURGH — Former Slippery Rock High School player Lea Roth scored 22 points to lead the Butler County Community College women's basketball team to a 55-51 win over CCAC-Allegheny Wednesday night.Roth hit six 3-pointers in the win.Butler graduate Ashley Nocera added 16 points for the Pioneers (7-4, 4-2).In the men's game, Nick Rutkoski scored 22 points, but the Pioneers (1-15, 0-6) fell to CCAC-Allegheny.

DAVIE, Fla. — Tony Sparano is going to work for Bill Parcells again, this time as coach of the Miami Dolphins. Sparano, who had been the Dallas Cowboys' assistant head coach, accepted a job offer Wednesday from new Miami boss Parcells. They worked together with the Cowboys when Parcells was head coach in 2003-06.Sparano, 46. became the Dolphins' fifth head coach since 2004. Parcells was on the job for only a week before he fired Cam Cameron, who went 1-15 in his first year as an NFL head coach.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Chiefs hired former Dallas Cowboys head coach Chan Gailey Wednesday as offensive coordinator, handing him one of the NFL's weakest attacks.Kansas City ended the season with a 4-12 record and on a nine-game losing streak after scoring only 226 points. That's 70 fewer than any Kansas City team has scored in 30 years.Gailey, who once served as the Pittsburgh Steelers' offensive coordinator, was fired after last season as head coach at Georgia Tech.
