Gordon Bachman
Dr. Gordon S. Bachman, 91, of Bradenton, Fla., formerly of Butler, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at the Water's Edge of Bradenton, Florida.
He was born Feb. 15, 1931, in Butler, and was the son of the late A.H. "Gus" Bachman and Mabel (Kradel) Bachman.
Dr. Bachman graduated from Butler High School. He then went on to Thiel College and the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary School.
Dr. Bachman was a past member of the State Veterinary Licensing Board. He practiced veterinary medicine in Mount Chestnut for 40 years, and was on the building committee for the new sanctuary at Trinity Lutheran Church, where he served as an usher. Dr. Bachman volunteered at Connoquenessing Meals on Wheels, and helped at the annual Spring Maple Sugar Maker at Lutherlyn with the environment program.
He is survived by his one son, Scott Bachman, and Scott’s wife, Margaret, of Smithfield, Va.; one daughter, Pamela Weaver, and her husband, Todd, of Bradenton, Fla.; five grandchildren, Stephen Weaver, Katie Weaver and her wife, Caitlin, Audrey Bachman, Samuel Bachman and Danner Bachman; two brothers, Dale Bachman of Pittsburgh, and James Bachman and his wife, Peggy, of West Sunbury; one sister, Laura Johnson of West Sunbury; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline W. "Polly" Bachman, whom he married Aug. 20, 1954, and who passed away Oct. 2, 2020; one brother, Clifford Bachman; and one sister, Muriel Comer.
BACHMAN — According to his wishes, there will be no public visitation for Dr. Gordon S. Bachman, who died Tuesday, April 26, 2022.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Dr., Butler, with Pastor Joel A. Benson officiating.
A private entombment took place in the Chapel of All Faiths at Greenlawn Burial Estates.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Trinity Memorial Fund, 120 Sunset Drive, Butler, PA 16001.
Arrangements were entrusted to the THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.
