Fredrick N. Vanistendael
Fredrick N. Vanistendael, 64, of Harrisville passed away at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday.
Fred was born Sept. 26, 1952, in Grove City, to the late Morris Vanistendael and Margaret Wolford Shaffer.
Fred was a
graduate of Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School and worked for many years at Slippery Rock Salvage and Cooper Bessemer. He married Patricia Redfoot on Aug. 7, 1999, she survives.
Together Fred and Patricia owned and operated Redfoot Mini-Storage for many years. Fred loved woodworking and working with his hands. He loved to farm his own land as well as hunt on it. He also loved to travel and go on road trips with his wife and mother-in-law.
In addition to his wife, Fred is survived by three sons, Varick W. Vanistendael and his wife, Ruth, Christopher R. Vanistendael and Robert J. Redfoot; four grandchildren, Angel Redfoot, Alex, Meghan and Desera Vanistendael; three great-grandchildren; four brothers, Gary, Terry, Doug and Bob; two sisters, Jean and Donna; his mother-in-law, Margaret Redfoot;, and three brothers-in-law, Donald, Keith and David.
In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his stepfather, Oliver Shaffer; and his brother, Morris Vanistendael.
VANISTENDAEL — Family and friends of Fredrick N. Vanistendael, who died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Jamison Funeral Home, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville.A funeral service will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev.
