Evelyn Bartley
At the proud age of 100, Evelyn Bartley, of Zelienople, formerly of Ross Township, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021.
She was the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Furch; wife of the late Eugene Bartley; loving mother of Terry Bartley of Port Orange, Fla., Beth Bartley of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Dr. John Bartley of Vassalboro, Maine, Nancy Bartley of Chester Springs, Pa., and Jim Bartley of Houston, Texas; the proud grandmother of 10; and great-grandmother of six.
Evelyn was the former owner of the Perrysville Dairy Queen from 1967 to 1976.
Evelyn was president of the North Hills Junior Women’s from 1958 to 1959. The club was instrumental in getting Passavant Hospital built, utilizing fundraisers and promoting awareness of the lack of hospital facilities in the area at the time.
She was also a longtime member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, and Order of the Eastern Star.
Evelyn enjoyed her last years on the Trillium Floor at Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople. The family would like to thank the staff for the kindness and compassion; they are truly angels.
BARTLEY — Friends of Evelyn Bartley, who died Tuesday, May 18, 2021, will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday and 10 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Hwy., Pittsburgh.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 920 Perry Hwy., Pittsburgh.
