Dorothy A. Rockar

Dorothy A. Rockar, 91, of Cabot passed away Tuesday at the Seneca Manor in Verona where she recently lived.

Born July 19, 1924, in Brackenridge, Pa., she was the daughter of Martin Weleski and Anna Blascheck Weleski.

After graduating from Winfield High School in 1941, at age 16, Dorothy attended Butler Business School.

She then worked as a secretary at Pullman-Standard in Butler for seven years until her marriage to Paul Andrew Rockar on Sept. 3, 1949.

Dorothy was a devoted lifelong member of St. Joseph Church in Cabot, where she was active in the Christian Mothers, served on the Apostolate Committee and volunteered for many years at the annual parish fall dinner. She had also been a member of the Cabot A R Women's Auxiliary.

As a homemaker and mother to four children, she enjoyed baking and cooking, and she was talented in sewing and needlework, gardening and canning. She treasured spending time with her family and especially enjoyed celebrating holidays and special occasions with them. Up until the time of her death, she remembered all of her family members with birthday cards each month, and she sent Christmas greetings every year to a wide circle of family and friends.

Dorothy is survived by her four children, James (Revena) Rockar of Doylestown, Paul (Judy) Rockar Jr. of Murrysville, Katherine (William) Winters of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Richard (Jennifer) Rockar of Spring, Texas; eight grandchildren, Amara Rockar and her husband, Mustapha, Matthew Rockar, Patricia (Joshua) Durow, Jennifer (John) Kortz, Michael Winters, Zachary Winters, Ross Moran and Rachel Moran; four great-grandchildren, Gianna and Grace Durow and Mavis and Isaac Berkshan; her sister, Lucille Green of Sarver; and two brothers, Robert (Kathy) Weleski of Cabot and Richard (Diana) Weleski of Cabot.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul A. Rockar Sr. on March 22, 2008; four brothers, Edward, Martin Jr., Raymond and Charles Weleski; and two sisters, Helen Sepich and Anna Margaret Boldy.

ROCKAR — Friends of Dorothy A. Rockar, who died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Fox Funeral Home, Saxonburg.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Cabot with the Rev. Mark Pattock officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Herman.Memorial donations may be made to the St. Joseph R.
