Butler High School Sequinettes will present a holiday show at 7 p.m. Saturday at Butler Senior High School auditorium.

The show will feature dance and flag routines and singing.

Santa will be available to be photographed with visitors.

Tickets, available at the door, cost $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 6 to 12; children younger than 5 are admitted free.

Proceeds will benefit Autism Speaks organization and the Sequinettes.

PITTSBURGH — Carnegie Science Center, One Allegheny Ave. next to Heinz Field on the North Side, will reopen its SportsWorks exhibition on Saturday with festivities all day. The new 12,000-square-foot exhibit contains nearly 30 interactive experiences.Also open is the Miniature Railroad & Village with the new replica of Fallingwater, plus "The Polar Express" has limited showing in the Rangos Omnimax Theater.The science center will be closed because of the neighboring stadium's Steelers' home games on Sunday and Dec. 27.Regular hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays; closed holidays. HARMONY — In honor of its German heritage, Harmony Borough will again this year mark New Year's Eve with a family oriented New Year's Eve celebration, or Silvester as it is known in Germany.The event will be held on German time, six hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time.The town will kick off its afternoon celebration at 3 p.m. with the Harmony Silvester 5K Run through the town and the surrounding countryside. Awards will be given to the top finishers, and there will be random prize drawings. A team plaque will be awarded.Following the race, a German band will perform traditional German music from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on the front porch of the Harmony Inn. When the music ends, the countdown to the New Year will begin.At 6 p.m., which is midnight in Germany, revelers can welcome in the New Year with the Sign Innovation Ball Drop and the Zambelli Silvester Fireworks Blast.Other activities will include the German Christmastime classic short film, "Dinner for One," as well as "Bleigiessen," or lead drop fortune telling.Food and drink will be available.Admission to the events is free. PITTSBURGH — "Gods, Love, and War: Tapestries and Prints from the Collection" will be on display Saturday through June 3, 2010, at the Carnegie Museum of Art, 4400 Forbes Ave.Highlighting a selection of six large-scale tapestries dating from the 16th and 17th centuries and 40 prints from the museum's collection, the exhibition explores the historical popularity of tapestries.The tapestries on view include:• Alexander Entering Babylon in Triumph, from The Life of Alexander, designed in 1665 and woven in 1691.• The Triumph of Hope, from The Triumphs of the Seven Virtues, made circa 1530 in Brussels.• The Holy Family Attended by Angels, designed in the early 16th century in Brussels, and made with wool, silk, and gilt-metal-wrapped thread.A select number of prints will be exhibited alongside the tapestries and will depict many of the same themes. The galleries also will feature an area devoted to the technique of tapestry weaving, where a small modern vertical loom will be used to demonstrate intricate tapestry weaves.Art museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, with extended hours until 8 p.m. Thursdays, and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays; closed Mondays and major holidays.
