A weekend arrest netted Butler police dozens of bags of suspected heroin, crack cocaine, marijuana, a scale and other contraband.

Amanda Lea White, 36, of Butler is charged with felony and misdemeanor drug possession, and she remains in the Butler County Prison on $100,000 bail.

Police said they were called shortly before 10 a.m. Saturday to the Terrace Apartments, a senior citizens high rise on South Cliff Street, after several residents noticed someone who looked out of place.

Officers found the suspected intruder, later identified as White, in the women's bathroom, according to court documents. She was carrying a drawstring back pack.

She told police that she knew she was not allowed in the secure apartment building but that she had to use the bathroom.

White let officers search her back pack, police said. Inside, they found 48 stamp bags of suspected heroin and what appeared to be three rocks of crack.

Additionally, documents said, the pack contained about 30 grams of suspected marijuana, a scale, packaging papers, crack pipe and Chore Boy copper scrubber, which is commonly used to filter drug-smoking pipes, and $145 in cash.

She was arraigned Saturday on felony charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and trespass, and misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of a small amount of marijuana.

A preliminary hearing is set for Nov. 6.

White is already facing a preliminary hearing in an unrelated misdemeanor drug case in Butler.

City police said they found her with suspected crack and a crack pipe Oct. 4 after being called for a fight outside the Lafayette senior citizen apartment building on West Diamond Street.

She is charged in that case with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and disorderly conduct.
