Melvin L. Plunkard Jr., 62, of Mars, passed away on Sunday evening, March 21, 2021, at his home.

Born July 28, 1958, in Butler, he was the son of the late Melvin Sr. and Genevieve Draper Plunkard.

Melvin had worked as a tree cutter, as a laborer for Miller Screen and Design and then worked for the Mars Beer Distributor.

He enjoyed playing horseshoes and hosting his annual picnic.

Surviving are three sisters, Debra Sue Betts of Sarver, Linda Plunkard of Evans City and Beatrice Wideman (Milton) of Canton, Ohio; a brother, Ralph Plunkard (Margo) of Mars; his beloved dog, Shea; and his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Timothy Beyers and Robert Eugene Plunkard.

PLUNKARD — Friends of Melvin L. Plunkard Jr., who died Sunday, March 21, 2021, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.

Closing prayers will follow the service at 8 p.m.

Memorials may be given to the family to assist with final expenses.
