Lawrence John Gardner, 94, of Hilliards passed away Saturday at his home.

Born July 21, 1924, he was a lifelong resident of the Hilliards area.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Bonnie Jean Gardner.

Lawrence was a loving father and grandfather.

He was a proud World War II veteran.

Surviving are his son, David L. Gardner of Eau Claire; his granddaughter, Erin A. Gardner of Etna; and his sister, Rachel Young of Butler.

He will be fondly remembered by his family and friends as a kind, compassionate individual who strongly believed in “leaving the world a little better than how you found it.”
