Orlando R. Gross
Orlando R. Gross, 94, of Amanda, Ohio, formerly of Butler passed away Monday in Lancaster, Ohio.
He was born Feb. 29, 1924, in Wheeling, W.Va., and was the son of the late Alfonse and Verna (Reedy) Gross.
Orlando proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
After returning from the war, he married Helen Nagy.
He worked for many years as a welder for Pullman Standard in Butler and after retiring, learned the shoe repair business which he enjoyed until he retired at age 79.
Ollie had resided with his eldest son, Eric, and his wife, Susan, for the past 15 years in Ohio.
He is survived by his sons, Eric (Susan) Gross of Amanda, Ohio, and Wayne (Linda) Gross of Sacramento, Calif.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Cober (Barbara) Gross of Wheeling, W.Va.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Helen Gross.
GROSS — The family of Orlando R. Gross, who died Monday, Sept. 10, 2018, will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Taylor Funeral Home, 111 W.
