Buter health care workers unite for impromptu prayer vigil at BMH parking lot

Doug and Ally Moran led a prayer vigil outside Butler Memorial Hospital Tuesday night, inviting the community to engage in a moment of silent solidarity with those affected by COVID-19.

About 35 people, many of them employees of Butler Health System and their families, attended a prayer vigil at 8 p.m. Tuesday, just hours after nurse Ally Moran organized it on social media.

Moran said the hospital staff has been exhausted for months from working long days treating COVID-19 patients, and she wanted to spread positivity through a gathering as soon as possible.

“I just felt like it couldn't wait,” she said. “Just wanted to bring some unity, solidarity with each other. No judgements, just unity.”
