Flora J. Betres

Flora J. Betres, 98, of Butler passed away Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2020, in Butler Memorial Hospital following a short illness.

She was born March 25, 1922, in Butler, and was the daughter of the late Oscar and Yole C. DelTredici Bianucci.

Flora was the owner and operator of Betres Beauty Salon in Butler for 20 years. Before owning her salon, she worked as head beautician at the Carlton House Hotel in Pittsburgh for 28 years.

She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and the Ladies Guild of St. Michael.

Flora was a great traveler. In addition to visiting her relatives in Italy numerous times, she traveled to South America, the Holy Land and the Far East.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Lee Heeter and her husband, Gene, of Lake Grove, N.Y.; her son-in-law, John Grunick of Bethel Park; one grandson, Gene Heeter (Michelle); two granddaughters, Christine Owen (Michael) and Monica Yope (Chris); and five great-grandchildren, Matthew, Ryan, Tyler, Bryce and Braelene.

Flora’s nickname was “Mema From the Plane.”

Flora was preceded in death by her daughter, Charmaine Grunick; and brother, Alfred Bianucci.

She will be missed by her friends and numerous relatives here and in Italy.

BETRES — There will be no visitation for Flora J. Betres, who died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2020.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler.
