Mother Nature has not been kind to the Butler BlueSox already this season.

Butler was rained out against Champion City in Springfield, Ohio, on Friday, forcing a doubleheader Saturday.

The weather had other plans.

The BlueSox and Kings did manage to get three-plus innings of Game 1 in before persistent rain forced the suspension of the first game and the postponement of the second.

Grant Hannant hit a home run on the first pitch of the game and Kristian Webb homered a few innings later to give Butler a 3-0 lead before the rains came.

The game will be concluded when the BlueSox return to Springfield June 23. The second game will be made up as part of a doubleheader July 11.

Butler was off Sunday and will host Chillicothe at 7:05 p.m. Monday at Kelly Automotive Park.
