Douglas K. Schnell
Douglas K. Schnell, 71, of Walnut Drive, New Castle, Shenango Township, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday at UPMC Horizon-Shenango Valley.
Born March 12, 1947, in Butler, he was the son of the late Dorothy McWilliams.
He was married to Cyndy Martin Schnell for 47 years. They were married on June 27, 1970. She survives.
Doug was the owner and operator of Sitler and Lemmon Heating and Cooling Co. in Ellwood City.
In the 1970s and early 1980s, Doug enjoyed drag racing. He also enjoyed working on his cars and spending time golfing.
Doug was well liked and a good friend to all who knew him. He will be missed by many.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Jeremy (Rhiannon) Schnell of Ellwood City, and Gabe (Connie) Schnell of Shenango Township; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Jeffrey P. Schnell of Albany, Ga., and Ariel “Buzz” Kelly and Shirley Kelly of Mars; five grandchildren, Caitlyn and Aidyn Schnell, and Haleigh, Andrew, and Aaron Martin; and a number of nieces and nephews. Doug also leaves behind his dear friends that he considered family, Chris and Geri Houston of Hickory Township, and Fritz and Theresa Graziani and their daughters, Ashley and Alyssa, of Shenango Township.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Lou Kelly, who died in 1998, and two brothers, Merle Kelly, who died in 2004, and Russell Schnell, who died in 1982.
SCHNELL — Friends of Douglas K. Schnell, who died Wednesday, April 25, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave., Ellwood City.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev.
