Circus coming to Freeport fest

Freeport Theatre Festival will present “Bertha and Bailey's Circus,” a comedy written by Rennick Steele and Chloe Marin, from Aug. 13 to 29.

Curtain is at 7 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at the barn theater on the Steele farm, 2498 White Cloud Road, two miles south of Freeport off Route 356 in Allegheny Township, Westmoreland County.

Admission to the air-conditioned theater is $15 for general admission, $12 for military and seniors, and $10 for students.

For more information, call 724-295-1934 or make a reservation at www.freeporttheatrefestival.org.

The two-act play is about two brother clowns, Bozo, a funny clown, and Wing Ding, an unfunny clown. Everyone laughs at Bozo's jokes, but no one laughs at Wing Ding's jokes. Thus, Wing Ding leaves the Circus and becomes a ruthless investment banker bent on buying up the shares and closing Bertha and Bailey's Circus.

The cast includes Jim Knapick of Saxonburg, and Mario Lesko and Anne Lindsay, both of Sarver.

Reservations are available at 724-295-1934 or www.freeporttheatrefestival.org.
