Richard J. Weiland

Richard J. Weiland, 84, of Connoquenessing passed away Wednesday while under the care of the Veterans Hospital in Oakland.

Born Jan. 18, 1934, in Butler, he was the son of the late Joseph P. Weiland and Charlotte Forcht Weiland.

Richard proudly served our country in the Marine Corps during the Korean War.

He was a member of the Harmony Masonic Lodge 429, F&AM. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion in Evans City.

Richard will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughters, Mary (Bruce) Finke of Prospect, Lisa (Tim) Romans of Butler, Catherine (Curt) Kugel of Renfrew, Rachel Weiland of Ashville, Ohio, Gretchen (Keith) Haburjak of Evans City and Melissa (Jim) Weisenstein of Butler; his 13 grandchildren; his five great-grandchildren; and his sister, Charlotte Ross of Chicora.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth Steffler Weiland, who passed away in 2013; and his two sisters, Mary Jo Weiland and Francis McKissick.

WEILAND — As per his wishes, there will be no public visitation or services for Richard J. Weiland, who died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018.Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Boylan Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Connoquenessing Township, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
