The Butler County American Legion Baseball League held its annual All-Star Tryout at Highfield Park on Saturday.

Eighteen players were selected to play in the Region 7 semifinal game, scheduled for June 13 at Highfield Park.

Players advancing include:

Meridian - Aaron Ordy (3B), Jordan Foley (2B)

Prospect - Mark White (SS), Sean Ray (2B), Brandon Ray (OF)

Center Township - Clayton Smith (C), Nathan Markle (P), Josh Warburton (OF)

Karns City - Matt Allen (C), Kyle Texter (OF)

Zelienople - Shannon Nagel (OF)

Butler City - Phil Waller (OF)

Registration is now open for a Junior Golf league at 9 a.m. every Tuesday for eight weeks beginning this week through July 26 at Aubrey's Dubbs Dred Golf Course.There will also be a four-day golf school June 8-9 and 16-17 at the course, taught by PGA professional John Aubrey Sr.For details, call 724-285-7294.
