William B. Tack
William B. Tack, 67, of Hilliards, passed away Tuesday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.
He was born April 13, 1951, in Butler, and was the son of Dorothy Robb Tack of Butler and the late John C. Tack.
William was a 1969 graduate of Butler High School.
He then obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in health and physical education from Slippery Rock University in 1973.
William was a teacher for the Butler School District for 35 years, retiring in January of 2011. He was a longtime, passionate sports coach for Butler High School and his son's sports teams.
William was a member of First United Methodist Church and enjoyed woodworking, watching sports, golf, walking his dog, Zoe, and spending time with his family.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 44 years, Donna M. Tack, whom he married on Aug. 3, 1974; four sons, Herbert W. (Tammy) Tack of Tulsa, Okla., William G. (Holly) Tack of Hilliards, Michael J. (Jennifer) Tack of East Butler, and Matthew J. (Alli) Tack of Waynesboro; 11 grandchildren, Garland, Autumn, Nathan, Nicholas, Aubree, Matthew, Andrew, Addison, Gabriel, Maddox and Henley; one great-granddaughter, Alaina; two brothers, John G. (Elaine) Tack of Middletown, Ohio, and Jeffrey M. (Marina) Tack of Kitty Hawk, N.C.; a brother-in-law, Russell Bicker of Slippery Rock; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara L. Bicker; and an infant granddaughter, Jessica.
TACK — Per his wishes, there will be no public visitation for William B. Tack, who died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2018.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, 200 E.
