Betty Ann (Wallow) Hill

Betty Ann (Wallow) Hill, 90, of Butler passed away Tuesday at Carolyn's Hospice House in Linglestown, Pa.

She was born June 9, 1928, in Walkertown, Pa., and was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Widok) Wallow.

Betty was a homemaker, working part time at Bon Ton and Dunkin' Donuts. While working at Dunkin' Donuts, Betty took pride in being the top seller of coffee buttons for Easterseals, where her generous and charitable nature shone brightly.

She was an active member of Christ Community United Methodist Church.

Betty also participated in local bowling leagues and volunteered for Meals on Wheels.

She enjoyed watching all sports, but especially loved cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Betty was most proud of her role as a devoted mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara A. Sloan of Hummelstown, Pa.; her sons, David R. Hill of Mercer, John W. (Gayle) Hill of Asheville, N.C., and Samuel G. (Karen) Hill of Clarksville, Tenn.; one brother, John (Nancy) Wallow Jr. of Ravenna, Ohio; three sisters, Mary Elizabeth Wentzel, Ruth Sanders and Roberta (James) Migliozzi of Ravenna, Ohio; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William R. Hill, to whom she was married for 58 years before his passing.

She also was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Kathleen Hill.

HILL — Per her request, all services for Betty Ann (Wallow) Hill, who died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2018, will be private and have been entrusted to the care of Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E.
