Chelsy Lynn Dobson Craig

Chelsy Lynn Dobson Craig, 56, of Slippery Rock passed away at her home at 7:15 a.m. Friday following an extended illness.

She was born in Butler, Sept. 15, 1956, to Thomas Joseph Dobson Sr. and Alberta June Kelly Dobson.

She married Charles “Charlie” Edward Craig on Dec. 10, 1999.

She worked at the Grove Manor Nursing Home in nursing from 1996 until 2003. Prior to that, she worked at Bonnetti's Nursing Home, later called Autumn Grove, in Harrisville.

She graduated from Karns City High School in 1975. She attended Slippery Rock University for three years and then the Jameson School of Nursing in New Castle. She was a licensed practical nurse.

She enjoyed playing practical jokes on family and friends and greatly enjoyed playing with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed swimming, riding in the golf cart with Charlie, her kids, grandchildren and the dog. She used to be active in working with ceramics. She was a Presbyterian.

Surviving are her husband, Charles E. Craig of Slippery Rock; one son, Joshua G. Hile of Slippery Rock; one daughter, Tara N. (Micah) Hiles of Petrolia; one brother, Thomas J. Dobson Jr. of Farrell, Pa.; and one stepson, Charles E. “Edward” Craig III of Slippery Rock. Also surviving are two granddaughters, Kenzie and Ally Hiles.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

CRAIG — The family of Chelsy Lynn Dobson Craig, who passed away Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, will observe a private wake service.Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.
