Rebecca L. Schneider, 48, of Phoenix, Ariz., formerly of Middlesex Township, died Thursday morning in Phoenix.

Born in Parkersburg, W.Va., on Dec. 20, 1963, she was the daughter of Paul R. Schneider and Patricia Mann Wheale.

Rebecca was a 1982 graduate of Mars High School and graduated from Slippery Rock University. She was a librarian for Arizona State University and ran for the U.S. Congress, 6th District in Arizona.

She was a member of the Dog Rescue League in Phoenix.

Surviving are her mother, Patricia Mann Wheale of Bellevue; her father, Paul R. Schneider and his wife, Margaret, of Middlesex Township; a sister, Amy Schneider of Duisburg, Germany; a brother, Glen Schneider and his wife, Nicole, of Bellevue; and a niece, Elsa Schneider.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Paul R. Schneider Jr.

SCHNEIDER — Friends of Rebecca L. Schneider, who died Thursday morning, Oct. 11, 2012, will be received at McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
