Richard L. Collar
Richard L. Collar, 67, of Butler, formerly of Grove City, passed away at noon Sunday at Butler Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
He was born on May 10, 1946, in Grove City to John “Jack” Collar and Helen J. Cook Collar.
He married Annamarie Codispot on Sept. 14, 1992.
He retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, where he was a sergeant.
He was a Catholic.
Dick spent 13 years in the U.S. Army, and served two tours of duty during the Vietnam War.
Surviving are his wife, Annamarie at home; his two children, Tanna Kay and her husband, Rodney, of Indianapolis, Ind., and Jeremy Hogue and his wife, Megan, of Grove City; his two grandchildren, Trenton and Teaghan, and his two sisters, Shirley A. Wilson and her husband, Eugene, and Kate Thompson and husband, Richard, both of Grove City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, John L. “Louie” Collar.
COLLAR — Visitation for Richard L. Collar, who passed away Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, will be at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City, from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday.A funeral service will be at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Friday with Father Michael Allison officiating. Burial will be at St. Michael's Cemetery, Butler.
