Joan H. Rude

Joan H. Rude, 84, of Middlesex Township, Valencia, died Friday morning at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township.

Born in Philadelphia on March 10, 1930, she was the daughter of the late John and Catherine Porter Hylan.

A homemaker, Joan was a member of Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church and the widow and widowers there. She enjoyed her card club, the birthday club and the casino.

Surviving are three daughters, Joan Brennfleck and her husband, Ken, of Elizabeth, Judy Underwood of Valencia and Ann Hanovick and her husband, John, of Mars; one son, Paul B. Rude Jr. and his wife, Barb, of Valencia; her grandchildren, Ken Brennfleck and his wife, Virginia, Kevin and Karen Brennfleck, Emily Hanovick, Abby Harting and her husband, Drew, and Richard and Paul Rude; one sister, Theresa DiPietro and her husband, Louis, of Holmes, Pa.; one brother, John “Bud” Hylan and his wife, Gail, of Simi Valley, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul B. Rude Sr., who she married on Nov. 1, 1952, and who died on Aug. 11, 1981; and her sisters, Catherine Rizzo, Gertrude Hylan and Patricia Ferguson.

RUDE — Friends of Joan H. Rude, who died Friday, June 6, 2014, will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars, on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.A Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church, 1304 E. Cruikshank Road, Butler, PA 16002 with the Rev. Charles Bober officiating. Burial will be in Mars Cemetery, Adams Township.Directions and condolences are available at www.mcdonald-aeberli.com.
