Trufley

Mildred “Irene” Trufley, 90, of Concordia at the Orchard, peacefully passed away to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 24, 2022.

Born on March 26, 1932, in Branchton, Irene was the daughter of the late Leonard and late Rosie (Hogg) Schlagel.

She was a member of St. Faustina Parish in Slippery Rock and also the Christian Mothers. She was a member of the VFD Ladies Auxiliary and a card club. She also liked to be outside doing yardwork. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, playing games and cards, and cooking holiday meals.

Irene is survived by four daughters, Debra Germani of New Castle, Cyndi (Dan) Swidzinski of West Sunbury, Elaine Trufley Young of Slippery Rock and Lisa Trufley of Slippery Rock; one son, Arnold “Arnie” (Carol) Trufley of Boyers; one daughter-in-law, Kelly R. Smith of Slippery Rock; seven grandchildren, Erik, Amber, Travis, Abbie, Brooke, Grant and Epifani; and seven great-grandchildren, Cloie, Logan, Naima, Piper, Tyson, Eden and Kolten. She is also survived by one sister, Mary Christie, of Petrolia, and many nieces and nephews

Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph W. Trufley, who passed away Jan. 19, 1991; her son, Robert P. Trufley; a son-in-law, Joseph Germani; three brothers; and four sisters.

TRUFLEY — Family and friends of Mildred “Irene” Trufley, who died Sunday, April 24, 2022, will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.

A blessing service will be held at noon Wednesday at the funeral home with Father Adam Verona of St. Faustina Parish, officiating.

Burial in West Sunbury Union Cemetery.
