Middlesex golf outing to benefit park construction

A June 10 golf outing at Pheasant Ridge Golf Club in Gibsonia will benefit the installation of a new pavilion at Middlesex Township Community Park.

Township manager Adam Hartwig said funds raised through tickets to the event, a scramble-style golf outing with four-person teams, will go toward contracting out installation of the pavilion. The pavilion was delivered to the park in March.

Other upcoming construction in the park, including the installation of a playground and the finishing of a walking trail around the perimeter of the park, will be finishing soon, he said, and the playground should be open by June.

“They have to come out and do the final top coat of asphalt (for the trail),” Hartwig said. “The asphalt plants are starting to open up for the season here.”

Tickets for the outing are $125 per golfer. Sponsorship opportunities for the event are also available, and those interested in either should contact the Middlesex Township office, Hartwig said.

He hopes the outing can become an annual event in the future.

“We’re looking to get an event that’s going to be able to be an annual, reoccurring event, that would raise some funds for the park, but also generate a sense of community and camaraderie and togetherness, getting everybody together and moving towards a common goal or project,” he said.

Golfers who are interested should register by May 25.
