Ryan Fennell and James Connelly belted back-to-back home runs in the bottom of the fourth inning Tuesday as Saxonburg scored a 4-0 shutout of visiting Zelienople in Eagle County League baseball action.

Fennell’s blast yielded three runs.

Matt McCarthy pitched four innings for the win, striking out five and walking none.

Alex Crawford took the loss after striking out one and walking three in six innings.

Andy Fritz singled twice for Saxonburg (11-5-2) and Patrick Zendher doubled for Zelie.

Mars II 8, Freeport II 6 — C.J. Weigand earned the win on the mound, singled and drove in a run on Monday.

Matt Eperesi homered and drove in two runs, Trent Smith singled, doubled and drove in two runs and Tim Geibel also picked up an RBI.
