Anna Stock

Anna Rose (Varrasso) Stock, 85, of Butler passed away Thursday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

She was born on Dec. 16, 1928, in Bradys Bend, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Concetta Valente Varrasso.

An exceptional homemaker and selfless mother, she was also employed at Nationwide and at Troutman’s Department Store.

Anna was a member of the Saint Peter Roman Catholic Church, Butler.

She was the devoted wife of 55 years to her late husband, Christopher B. Stock Jr., who preceded her in death on Oct. 1, 2013, and a loving mother and grandmother. Her generous spirit was never-ending. Her children and grandchildren never left the house empty-handed.

She is survived by her two daughters, Carol Gallagher and her husband, Bruce, of Renfrew, and Jean Schnur and her husband, Rege, of Butler; her two sons, Christopher “Butch” Stock and his wife, Linda, of Renfrew, and Bernie Stock and his wife, Rhonda, of Economy; her daughter-in-law, Julie Stock of Meridian; her two sisters, Mary Toscano of Sun City, Fla., and Bertha Yount of Beaver; and her brother, Salvatore “Sam” Varrasso and his wife, Cis, of Butler.

Also surviving are her 13 grandchildren, Amy, Lisa, Beth Ann, Chris, Holly, Jack, David, Madeline, Olivia, Andrew, Adam, Benjamin and Blake, and her great-granddaughter, Bree.

In addition to her husband, Anna was preceded in death by her beloved son, Richard J. Stock, who passed away April 27, 2013; her two sisters, Philomena Malizia and Rose Iarrapino; and her three brothers, James, Jimmy and Ernest.
