Bret Michaels to donate $10,000 for Kaufman House project
FRANKLIN TWP — Singer Bret Michaels tonight will announce a $10,000 donation for the Kaufman House revitalization project at his performance at the Big Butler Fair.
Jack Cohen, president of the Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau, said Michaels was made aware of Kaufman House project last year during his visit and Butler homecoming performance at the fair.
“Last year he said he wanted to commit to the community,” Cohen said. “That’s a pretty nice gesture on his part to make that available.”
The tourism bureau is helping with renovations and the reopening of the Zelienople hotel and restaurant that burned in 2011.
Michaels lived in Butler as a child and still has family members in the area. He is best known as the frontman of the 1980s rock band Poison and as the star of the former reality television show “Rock of Love.”
His concert starts at 8 p.m.
