Martha V. McFadden

Martha V. McFadden of Slippery Rock, formerly of Harrisville and Parker, passed away Monday at Countryside Nursing Home in Mercer. She was 86.

Martha was born in North Liberty, Mercer County, Jan. 17, 1931, to Francis S. and Eva Blanch (Buchanan) Kay.

She married Walter Glenn McFadden July 15, 1949. He preceded her in death April 23, 2002.

She was a homemaker and retired from Clearview Nursing Home in Sligo, Pa., where she was a nurse's aide.

Martha was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church, Slippery Rock, and was a member of Lady Rebekah Lodge.

She is survived by four daughters, Joyce Barger, Sharon, Bonnie J. Crisman and her husband, Gary of Northport, Fla., Connie J. Hagan and her husband, William of Harrisville, and Patricia Holliday and her husband, Tim of Grove City; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Linda Hoffman of Columbus, Ohio; and two brothers, Bert Kay and his wife, Betty, and Al Kay and his wife, Marie of Kentucky.

In addition to her parents and husband, a son, David G. McFadden and five brothers, Glenn, William, Jim, Charles and Gene Kay, preceded Martha in death.

MCFADDEN — A private funeral family service for Martha V. McFadden, who died Monday, Oct. 16, 2017, will be held Wednesday at Cunningham Funeral Home, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City, with the Rev. Willard Morse officiating. Burial will follow in Barkeyville Cemetery.
