Florence Eichner
Florence F. Eichner, 93, of Butler, formerly of Gibsonia, passed away of natural causes Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021, at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Florence was born April 2, 1927, in Pittsburgh. She was the daughter of the late Anthony and Irene Rolewicz Pilarski.
She married Herbert J. Eichner on Aug. 24, 1947.
Together, they built and operated Sandy Hill Golf Course for more than 38 years. Over the years, Florence had been employed at Graham’s Nursing Home and Ruby’s Cleaners, and also was a devoted housewife and mother.
Florence was an active member of St. Victor Church in Gibsonia, and was a member of the choir for many years before moving to West Sunbury and joining St. Alphonsus (St. Faustina) Parish.
Her great love was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she attended every event that she could.
In her last years as a resident of New Haven Court of Butler, she made many new friends, and enjoyed her time there.
The family would like to thank everyone at New Haven, for their great care and affection for Florence.
Florence is survived by two daughters, Amy (Frank) Maxwell of South Butler, and Patricia (Charles) Wright of Ellwood City; two sons, Raymond (Kathleen) Eichner of Renfrew, and Kenneth (Marion) Eichner of West Sunbury; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert, who passed away May 30, 2011; and one brother, Joe Pilarski.
EICHNER — Services and burial for Florence F. Eichner, who died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021, will be held privately in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery in Tarentum.
Arrangements are under the direction of William F. Young Funeral Home, West Sunbury.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
