Nautical Nature pontoon boat at Moraine State Park operates cruises on Lake Arthur at 1 and 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays from McDanel’s Launch on the North Shore. Call 724-368-9185. The cruises end with the Oct. 27 Halloween cruise. Reservations are recommended.

Moraine State Park will be the site of Watercolor Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday. Meet at the Owlet Gift Shop, McDanel’s, North Shore. An Owl prowl is set for 7:30 p.m. Aug. 31, meeting beside Bear Run Launch on the South Shore.

McConnells Mill State Park in Slippery Rock Township, just over the county line into Lawrence County off Route 422, has the gristmill open from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays through Labor Day. Interpretive Tours are offered at 1 and 2 p.m. and by appointment. Admission, parking and tours are free. A Volunteer Work Day is planned for 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 8. Call 724-368-8811 to RSVP.
