Raymond Hood Jr.

Raymond K. Hood Jr., 71, of Butler passed away Saturday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born July 16, 1939, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Raymond Kenneth and Melva Ruth (Dreier) Hood.

He served in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Hood was a mechanic and also was a truck driver.

He was a member of the Oneida Valley Bow Hunters and the Sons of Lake Erie.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping in Erie and being outdoors.

Surviving are his mother, Melva Ruth Hood of Gibsonia; his wife, Constance L. (Hascall) Hood; his children, Virginia Ruth (Dale A. Jr.) Hertweck of Renfrew, Daniel Kenneth Hood of Saxonburg and Leanne Rae Hood of Saxonburg; three brothers, William (Susan) Hood of Gibsonia, James Hood of Arizona, and Richard (Nicola) Hood of Gibsonia; one sister, Linda (Paul) Fowler of Mars; nine grandchildren, Raelynne, Emilee, Justin, Joshua, Sean, Daniel, Taylor, Shauna and Autumn; and a great-granddaughter; Aubrey.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Kenneth Hood Sr.

<B>HOOD</B> — A memorial service for Raymond K. Hood Jr., who died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, will be at the Saxonburg VFW on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor's choice.Arrangements are being handled by the <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, Saxonburg; information also is available at www.foxfuneralhomeinc.com.
