Betty E. Slaugenhaupt, 95, of Saxonburg, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2022, at her home.

Born Dec. 7, 1926, in Rimersburg, she was the daughter of James Watterson and Barbara Sample Watterson.

Betty had worked as a machine operator for Du-Co Ceramics, retiring in 1988. She volunteered for 30 years at the Butler VA Medical Center, and was awarded Volunteer of the Year in 2014.

Betty was an avid Pirates fan. She enjoyed bingo, going to the casino, knitting and playing cards with her sisters.

Surviving are her daughter, Kathy (Robert J. Steiner) Caporali of Cabot; her siblings, Mary Henry of Rimersburg, Donald (Judy) Watterson of Maine, and Peg Schons of Rimersburg; and three grandsons, Carl, Michael and Shane.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wendell Slaugenhaupt, who passed away Dec. 17, 1994; and 12 siblings.

SLAUGENHAUPT — Friends of Betty E. Slaugenhaupt, who died Sunday, April 17, 2022, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at FOX FUNERAL HOME, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Interment will follow in Saxonburg Memorial Church Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
