David Rudiak
David Mitchell Rudiak, 78, of Wheat Street, Staunton, Va., passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021, at his residence following a long courageous struggle with congestive heart failure.
David was born Jan. 12, 1943, in Butler, and was a son of the late Mitchell and Marianne (Ligas) Rudiak.
He was a 1963 graduate of The University of Pittsburgh.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War with the rank of 1st lieutenant.He was retired from the City of Staunton as a computer technician in the water department.David was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Waynesboro, where he sang in the choir. He enjoyed doo-wop music, playing the piano and bowling.In addition to his parents, Mr. Rudiak was preceded in death by a sister, Maureen R. Aguiton.He is survived by his loving companion of 20 years, Barbara D. Wright; a son, Andrew D. Rudiak and his wife, Aurelie; three grandchildren, LucieLou, Valentino and Lenny; a sister, Michele A. Hebert and her husband, Gary, of South Miami, Fla.; a niece, Dana H. Berro and her husband, Josh, of Aspen, Colo.; and a nephew, Joel Aguiton of North Vancouver, British Columbia.RUDIAK — A memorial service for David Mitchell Rudiak, who died Saturday, April 24, 2021, will be held at a later date in the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Waynesboro.Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Dr., Staunton, Va., is in charge of his arrangements.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Augusta Health Foundation, c/o Hospice of the Shenandoah, P.O.
