Police are investigating a pair of apparent drug overdoses in Butler Township and Butler.

Michael A. Hollingsworth, 24, was found dead early Tuesday morning at his home on Hansen Avenue in Butler. Four days earlier Brandon Leibler, 34, died at his home on Remil Drive in Butler Township.

A cause of death in each case is pending toxicology results, authorities said.

Investigators said neither man had any visible injury and foul play was not suspected.

A 20-year-old woman who lives with Hollingsworth called 911 about 2:35 a.m. Tuesday to report finding him unresponsive in his bedroom, said Butler police Deputy Chief David Adam.

Laying next to Hollingsworth was his infant son. The woman told police that she removed the child from the bed and placed him in the crib, according to a police report.

She performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation and called authorities. A Butler Ambulance Service crew responded, but Hollingsworth had no pulse and was pronounced dead.

Police said they found two small bags of suspected marijuana and other drug contraband including a bong and a rolled-up dollar bill in the room. They also noticed an empty bottle of the painkiller Percocet.

Leibler was found by his mother at about 4:20 p.m. Friday, unresponsive in his bedroom at the family's home behind Skate Castle. It appeared that he had been dead for some time, possibly up to 12 hours, authorities said. Family said they heard him return home from work about 2 a.m. but had not looked in on him until after 4 p.m.

Butler Township police Chief John Hays said officers recovered a partially-used stamp bag of suspected heroin, a small bag of suspected marijuana and a marijuana grinder from Leibler's room. Butler County Deputy Coroner Larry Barr pronounced Leibler dead.
