James Hartman Sr.
James H. Hartman Sr., 94, of Butler, passed away Friday afternoon at VA Butler Healthcare.
Born in Penn Township, March 7, 1922, he was the son of the late Joseph T. and Matilda Hohage Hartman.
Jim was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Meridian.
He retired from Hull Resurfacing, operating heavy equipment. Jim was a member of Operating Local Union 66.
He also enjoyed traveling with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Even though he had retired, he found several jobs.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, one sister and three brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Critchlow Hartman, who he married March 20, 1947; two daughters, Joyce (Gary) Smay of Butler and Janet (Kevin) Popa of Renfrew; two sons, James (Susan) Hartman Jr. of Draper, Utah, and Gary (Carol) Hartman of Butler; one sister, Wilda Grabe of Butler; 14 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
HARTMAN — Friends and relatives of James H. Hartman Sr., who died Friday, Nov. 18, 2016, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 365 Saw Mill Run Road.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday from the church with Bishop Barnett officiating.
The A. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
