BC3 gets off to 4-1 start

Matt Lobaugh scored 24 points and brought down seven rebounds as the Butler County Community College men's basketball team defeated Thiel's junior varsity team 76-62 Monday evening.

Joel Rehm and Jeremy Peterson both added 13 points for the Pioneers (4-1), who will battle Waynesburg College's junior varsity Dec. 1.

Phil Bushre earned the Most Valuable Player award for the 2004 West Penn Classic after scoring 14 points to help the Grove City College men's basketball team defeat host Allegheny College 83-66 Saturday.Bushre had scored 23 points in the Wolverines' 81-73 victory over Carnegie Mellon Friday. Ryan Eller had a game-high 20 points in that contest and was named to the All-Classic team.

The Grove City College women's team fell to 1-1 Saturday with a 74-58 home loss to NAIA Walsh in the second round of the 2004 Howard Johnson Tip-Off Classic.Rachel McCoy came off the bench to score 21 points and added 10 rebounds and earned a spot on the All-Classic team. Sandy O'Keefe added 12 points, seven rebounds and four blocks and joined McCoy on the All-Classic team.
