WINFIELD TWP — Incumbent Supervisor Matt Klabnik fended off challenger Karl Kruger to win the race for the Republican nomination.

Klabnik, 47, is the de facto winner for the six-year seat since there were no Democratic candidates.

According to unofficial results, Klabnik won with 257 votes to Kruger’s 101 votes. There was one write-in vote.

The incumbent said he was thankful to those who voted Tuesday.

“I pledge to do the best I can within the constraints of our modest budget,” Klabnik said.

He is serving the final year of his first term.
