Harry Edward Bollinger
Harry Edward Bollinger, 89, of Freeport passed away peacefully Monday at his home surrounded by his family.
Harry was born July 1, 1926, in Natrona. He was the son of the late Olive (Street) and Earl Bollinger.
Harry served in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman 1c during World War II. He served in the Pacific Theater aboard the USS Luzon and the USS Beaver.
After his service to his country, he came home and took a job with PPG Industries in Creighton for 40 years, retiring in 1984.
He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeport. Harry enjoyed hunting, fishing, his cat, Cuddles and watching the Pittsburgh Pirates. He loved spending time with his family and going dancing with his wife at the Freeport VFW.
Harry is survived by his wife of 65 years, Doris (Cornman) Bollinger; their five children, James (Stacy) Bollinger of Freeport, Cheryl (Curtis) Sutton of Alexanderia, Tenn., Kenneth (Paula Shay Yackmack) Bollinger of Freeport, Lori (Scott) Hetrick of Kittanning and Marlene (Joe) Rowley of Freeport.
He also is survived by his 11 grandchildren, Marty, Misty, Matt, Nadine, Justin, Jeramie, Leah, Amber, Hope, Owen and Carson; and his five great-grandchildren, Ashley, Sean, Aiden, James and Judith.
He was preceded in death by his brother, William Bollinger
BOLLINGER — Friends and family of Harry Edward Bollinger, who died Monday, March 14, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME, 524 High St., Freeport.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev.
