WEXFORD — The public can preview plans Jan. 28 for the reconstruction project on the Pennsylvania Turnpike between the Cranberry interchange and the Warrendale toll plaza.

The Turnpike Commission will have an open house from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Marshall Middle School cafeteria at 5145 Wexford Run Road.

The project will widen the Turnpike from four lanes with a 10-foot median to six lanes with a 26-foot median.

It includes replacing three bridges, extending one culvert, lowering Mount Pleasant Road and constructing new storm-water facilities.

Work is expected to begin in 2019 and finish in 2021.

The total cost of the project is $76 million, and it will cover both Cranberry and Marshall townships.

CRANBERRY TWP — A beekeeping seminar scheduled at a hotel in the township has been moved to Monroeville.

The Western Pennsylvania Beekeeping Seminar will be Feb. 19-20 at the Doubletree Hotel Pittsburgh Monroeville Convention Center, 101 Mall Blvd., Monroeville.

Renovation issues at the Cranberry hotel created the need to switch locations, said Lyn Szymkiewicz, director of grounds and eco projects at Sisters of St. Joseph, which is hosting the event.
