ZELIENOPLE — A free summer concert is planned for 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Zelienople Park amphitheater. Music will be provided by the band, Third from First.

SAXONBURG — The Saxonburg Festival of the Arts is slated for Sept. 7 and 8 in and around town.The festival will include fine art, crafts, photography and a 5K community run/walk. The art exhibits will feature awards totaling more than $3,000.Stan Walchesky will be the featured artist.

PITTSBURGH — Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens will celebrate two of summer’s bountiful crops at its ninth annual Red, Ripe and Roasted tomato and garlic festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 25.The event features cooking demonstrations, a tomato contest, a farmers’ market and children’s activities — all to benefit the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.
