William J. Darney Jr.

William J. Darney Jr., 75, of Butler died Sunday morning at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

Born April 26, 1940, in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late William J. Darney Sr. and Dorothy Estelle (Fischer) Darney.

William was a partner in Butler Technologies from 1990 until he retired in 2010. He had worked in the screen printing industry for over 50 years.

He was a member of the Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church, the Buckeye Bassett Hound Club, the National Shoot and Retrieve Association, the Tarentum Homing Club, the Harmony Pigeon Club and the Butler Community Development Corp.

Surviving is his wife, Carol M. (Shaw) Darney, who he married June 2, 1962; four children, William J. Darney III of Tampa, Fla., Kathleen Grimm of Fort Myers Beach, Fla., Lisa Cupka of Shaler Township, Daryl Edward Darney and his wife, Becky (Hall) Darney of Butler; nine grandchildren, Dale Grimm Jr. and his wife, Alex, William J. Darney IV, Elizabeth Darney, Kayce Grimm, James Darney, Drew Darney, Sarah Darney, Mara Darney and Éire Darney; one sister, Dorothy (Paul) Staab of Butler; and one sister-in-law, Phyllis Darney of Plano, Texas.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Darney.

Cunningham St., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church, Glade Mills.
