Celebrating Mom
Second- and third-grade students at Holy Sepulcher School in Middlesex Township were recently asked to respond to the question: “What makes mother special?” Here are some of their written responses:
“This is why my grandma is so special. My grandma is special because my grandma is unselfish because she puts me first in her life. My grandma is dependable, she is always there when I need her. My grandma is nice, she buys me toys. My grandma is wonderful, she takes me to Texas and Disney World. My grandma is joyful. She is always happy. My grandma is the best one ever.”

“Why is your mother special? Because I know why my mother is special. She is awesome and kind. She is awesome because she always plays with me if I'm bored. For instance, if none of my friends are home she will play a game with me.
“Another reason my mother is special is because she's very kind and always helping people in need. For instance, if I'm sick she will help me feel better and not be sick anymore.
“So you see these are just some ways she is special, I'm sure glad God gave her to me to be my mother. This is why my mother is so special.”

“My mom is also very loving. She's loving because she makes us dinner every night. She also packs my lunch every morning. She makes me breakfast and so on.
“Now is your chance to tell your friends about YOUR mom. Anyway this is my mom. She has 1,000 reasons why she is and you only know two reasons.”
