Caroline G. Gilliland

Caroline G. Gilliland, 89, of Zelienople passed away on Thursday while under the care of Passavant Retirement Community.

Born March 27, 1929, in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Harry Z. and Helen Russell King.

Caroline was a member of St. Peter's Reformed Church in Zelienople.

She retired from her positions at Kmart and Step Saver Kitchens. She was also an assistant supervisor in insurance sales for Educators Mutual Insurance's IBM department.

Caroline enjoyed her pontoon boat at Moraine and dirt track racing.

Above all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Earl W. Gilliland; her daughter, Donna (Daryl) Evans of Lancaster; her son, Michael (Nancy) Gilliland of Portersville; her grandchildren, Christopher and Jeremy Evans, William Gilliland and Lisa Bills; and her great-great-grandchildren, Jake, Jillian, Eva, Connor, Cameron and Sam.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Martha Mooney and Janet Zuchva; and her brother, Harry King.

GILLILAND — The family of Caroline G. Gilliland, who died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018, will welcome friends from 1 p.m. until the time of a funeral service at 2 p.m. Sunday at Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.She will be laid to rest privately at Mount Nebo Cemetery in Prospect.In lieu of flowers, Caroline's family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her honor to the Salvation Army, 313 W.
