SRU baseball splits twinbill

SLIPPERY ROCK — Pitchers Eoin Rossman, JT Wolke and Travis Holman combined to allow just one run on six hits in the secod game Tuesday as the Slippery Rock University baseball team split a doubleheader with Mansfield at Critchfield Park.

The Rock (19-9) won the nightcap, 3-1, after dropping an 8-5 decision in the first game. SRU has now split six consecutive doubleheaders.

Joel Spishock had four hits in the twinbill, collecting three RBI and a pair of doubles. Abraham Mow contributed four hits, including a double.

Rossman struck out seven in 3.1 innings of work in the second game. Wolke was credited with the win in relief. Mow scored two runs and Jon Kozarian drove in a pair of runs and scored another.

Spishock had three hits in the first game, adding three RBI. Alex Robenolt and Eddie Morris had two hits as well. Morris scored two runs.

Mansfield is 13-18 on the season.

The Rock returns to PSAC West play Friday, hosting Seton Hill for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
